Trump Faces Widespread Condemnation Over Truth Social Posts Sharing Fatal Tiger Attack Footage

President Donald Trump has drawn sharp criticism after posting graphic video of the fatal tiger attack that killed 23-year-old William Chapman at Yorkshire Wildlife Park in Doncaster, England.
Chapman died on October 10 after entering the tiger enclosure. His family described him as a “bright, warm and engaging young man” who had battled significant mental illness for years. They publicly urged people to stop circulating the distressing footage, saying it was causing them severe distress.
Despite those pleas, Trump shared the clip on Truth Social on Tuesday with the caption “Don’t ever mess with nature! President DJT.” He later posted an AI-generated video of himself wrestling and hugging a tiger set to “The Lion Sleeps Tonight,” along with a montage of lion attacks.
Critics have called the posts callous and inappropriate, arguing that sharing a vulnerable man’s final moments for political or entertainment purposes shows a profound lack of empathy. The family and local authorities had already asked the public not to spread the video.
The posts have intensified ongoing debates about the president’s use of social media and the ethics of circulating real tragedy content online.
